A proud St. Louis native, Suzy graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychology. After graduating in 2020, she joined the 27th Cohort of ACE Teaching Fellows where she served two years as a fifth grader teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Brownsville, Texas. After graduating from the ACE program, she moved to Washington, DC where she now resides, teaching fifth grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Washington Jesuit Academy (WJA), an all-boys middle school following the Jesuit Nativity model. At WJA, she is able to support students in their academic growth, as well as in character formation through classes and after-school programs. Suzy will be staying at WJA next year and is excited to help restart the school’s debate team. Her professional and personal lives have been deeply entrenched by Jesuit values as well as the mission of the ACE program—to invest in and uplift Catholic schools. She believes in the transformational nature of Catholic education, especially in serving populations that are often overlooked in traditional school settings.
