Stacey Allaster, Chief Executive, Professional Tennis & US Open Tournament Director, United States Tennis Association (USTA) Stacey is a globally recognized sport and entertainment leader, a passionate champion for equality, and a pioneering innovator in the sport of tennis. Currently, as Chief Executive, Professional Tennis, and US Open Tournament Director at the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Stacey sets the strategic vision for the US Open, one of the world’s most iconic sport & entertainment events. Her appointment as Tournament Director made history, as she became the first female to hold the role in the USTA's 140-year history. Stacey's career began at Tennis Canada, where she spent 15 years as Vice President of Sales & Marketing and Tournament Director of the prestigious Canadian Open. In 2006, she transitioned to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA Tour), first as President and later as Chairman & CEO. Under her visionary leadership, the WTA experienced significant international growth, securing over $1billion in revenue and finalizing one of the largest media agreements in the history of women’s sport. She also led efforts to increase player compensation by 100%, including achieving equal prize money at Wimbledon and Roland Garros. These are a few of the many reasons she was named one of the “most powerful women in sports” and 50 over 50 visionary by Forbes, and a Top 50 Hero in the past 50 years by Tennis Magazine. She is the recipient of the Billie Jean King Leadership award and in 2022 she was appointed Companion of the Order of Canada, her native country’s highest civilian honor for her trailblazing contributions to gender equality in women’s professional sport and for her dedicated mentorship of women in the sports management industry.
