Samantha Hand was born and raised in Brockton, Maine. She graduated from Harvard College in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Classics and earned her Master's of Education as part of the 27th cohort of ACE Teaching Fellows in 2022. She taught middle school Social Studies and ELA in Phoenix, Arizona, and she currently teaches the same subject areas at St. John School in Boston's North End.

Samantha is especially interested in Social Studies curriculum and instruction, increasing girls' self-efficacy in the middle school classroom, and leveraging community resources for experiential learning. This summer she will be working as clinical faculty with ACE Teaching Fellows, assisting with Social Studies content and ELA practicum courses. She hopes to earn a PhD in the future and to explore other career paths in education outside of the middle school classroom.
